Description

Fell in love with the S111 coupe when I read a brochure. I didn't test drive one or even visit a showroom to see one. The only thing I did was to find an older model at a local used car lot to sit in, to ensure I could actually get in and out reasonably easy. I could, so I ordered one over the internet. It was delivered to me on my Birthday (16/09/07) and I was stunned. It was even better looking in the flesh than I'd imagined. Fantastic style inside and out, extremely comfortable leather seats, responsive engine (well it would be after my 13 year old Rover) and smooth auto gearbox. I tried the sequential gear change and it's ok for some, but I'm a lazy bugger and prefer to stick it in 'drive' and use my foot to alter the pressure to make gear changes when I want them. I can't stop having a girly giggle every time I get in it it's so exciting. My favourite thing is .......everything!!!!!!! My future plans.......To get in and drive as often as I can justify it. I've doubled my mileage in the last two months.

It's new and so appearance mods are a bit early, but I've added chrome springs to the head rest stems which add a certain something to their appearance. I've stuck an alloy tax disk holder in the window and I've sent to a Korean company for Tuscani metal sill guards to replace the ones Hyundai charge £94 (inc VAT) in the UK. The Korean ones are $50 (USD) inc shipping and handling. That's just over £24 through Paypal. I suppose I'll have to pay VAT and import tax but that only amounts to an extra £6.60 ish.

Update:- No taxes or import duty. Fitted the sill guards which were a doddle, just 6 spring clips to push in.

No performance mods but I was approached via private message on the forum by a chap from K&N filters who wanted to give me a free CAI if I loaned them my car for testing. I thought about it, being the type of chap that likes to get owt for nowt, but I decided I couldn't let my baby be taken from me by strangers and treated god knows how, so no, I didn't bother.

Audio mods? yes, I suppose so. I bought an Ipod to connect to the connector provided in the new S111. CD controls are used to control the Ipod so it's very versatile and quite a good sound. Good enough for me. I don't need the excessive ICE some youngsters go for but everyone to their own. I'd be happier if the iPod didn't have a mind of it's own and keep changing to the repeat setting.
